“I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made” Psalm 194:14

It is so easy to get caught up with comparing ourselves to other people’s physical attributes, physical abilities, social status, intellectual abilities, and so forth. Our society has created this level of standard that if you don’t look a certain way or act a certain way or even have a certain amount of money you can be categorized a certain way. Many of us will cater our lives to live in this stereotype. We were not created to fit any stereotype; we were created with and for greatness!

As a child of God, you were made to rise above the norm, you were made to shine, and you were made with purpose. You must take your blinders off and look at yourself through the eyes of God, see how he sees you. “For we are his workmanship [masterpiece], created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.” Ephesians 2:10. Let’s take a moment to understand this verse, imagine a potter that has just finished what they would consider a masterpiece. To create a masterpiece, it takes a lot of time and delicacy to sculpt and perfect the design. Each curvature and indention are placed purposefully to bring out its beauty. A masterpiece is made to stand out with its own unique characteristics. A masterpiece is not just an ordinary piece of art, it’s the artist BEST work. Think about that for a minute.

You were created by the Ultimate Creator, and you are God’s best work! He cultivated you with such patience, delicacy, and careful consideration. He crafted you uniquely from anyone else. You are one of a kind, so be comfortable with who you are and embrace what God has given you. He has given you your own set of skills and abilities for you to use to glorify him. Stop comparing yourself to the social norm and be the BEST YOU! Start that relationship with God so he can help guide you to your best.

John 15:5 “I am the vines, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit; for without me ye can do nothing.
